From Darkness to Destiny: The Story of Zainab and Yusha

A Life Without Light, A Marriage Without Hope
Zainab had never seen the world, yet she felt its harshness in every breath she took. Born blind, she grew up in a home where she was treated as a burden rather than a blessing. Her father, seeing no value in her, made a decision that would change her life forever—he married her off to a poor man, a beggar named Yusha.
To many, it seemed like a cruel arrangement. What kind of life could a blind woman have with a man who had nothing?

You’ll be safe here, Zainab.” The sound of his name, spoken with such quiet gravity, hit her harder than any blow. She sank onto a thin mat, her senses hyper-tuned to the space. She heard it move—the clink of a tin cup, the rustle of dry grass, the strike of a match. That night, he didn’t touch her. He draped a heavy, fragrant wool blanket over her shoulders and withdrew to the doorway. “Why?” she whispered into the darkness.
“Why what?”
